Footsteps edition by DiAnn Mills Religion Spirituality eBooks
I think DiAnn Mills is a wonderful Christian author anyhow, but Footsteps really touched my heart deeply. Missing children has to be one of the most difficult situations any parent has to deal. It is the kind of thing that when seeing a story about it on tv or the internet you just want to gather your family and especially your children close to you and never let them out of your sight less the same thing touch one of them. I think it would be difficult to deal with just a situation without God, I don't know how one does it without God. DiAnn tells the story of Debra and her missing children. It is told in a very realistic way. Debra's path is in no way smooth. There are many bumps in her road as she searches for her children. I don't want to say much about the story to spoil it for those who have not read it. But I will say that at a certain point in her struggles she gives them over to God, and although she does not them simply find her children, she does learn to live with her trust for their protection and hopefully their return placed in God's hand. It is a heartbreaking story, but a beautiful one as well as you see God work in Debra's life and in others as well. It is also a beautiful story that speaks of God's mercy and his grace and his great love for each of his children. In my opinion it is a don't-miss book! I hope you will give it a read. I don't think you will regret it!Product details

Footsteps edition by DiAnn Mills Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Follow Debra Patterson as she lives a parent's worst nightmare when her two young children disappear from the Houston shopping mall, where she took them to buy school clothes. She is even more distraught when she learns her husband disappeared too and he planned the whole thing. First she turns to alcohol to dull her pain, then while getting counseling from her best friend's pastor, she turns to God when several strangers walk up to her and they each tell her the same thing "God loves you". With the strength of God, and the help of a new friend, she struggles to track down her children.
This is the first book I've read by DiAnn Mills and it was so heart touching and rending!!!! To say that Debra was abused by her husband is putting it mildly!!! He was a perfectionist and it ALWAYS had to be HIS way. One morning, Debra had planned a good day for her two kids (Chad and Lauren) and they all had a really great time. When they went to leave the mall, it was pouring rain!! So, Debra left the kids at the front of the mall on a bench and she went to get the SUV (because Michael would have gotten so upset if the seats were wet!!!!!). Well, as you can imagine, when she got back, the kids had disappeared!!!! I won't tell you more because I don t want it spoiled for you, but it is an amazing story!!! Please read it and let it touch your heart!! It truly helps draw you to God also!!! He is an integral part of the story and her life!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!! Spread the word!!!!! Co)
DiAnn Mills is high on my list of favorite suspense authors. After reading some of the reviews for Footsteps, I knew it was not in the suspense genre.
I decided to give it a try anyway as Ms. Mills is a excellent writer. Footsteps focuses on Debra's personal and spiritual growth. At the beginning of the book, Debra is wimpy wife who thinks everything is her fault. She believes her abusive domineering husband is correct when he constantly tells her that she is not a good wife or mother. Readers follow Debra's progress as she becomes a strong determined woman through her new faith in God and with the help of loving, caring friends. Footsteps is a well written redemption story. Debra and Cale are fully fleshed out characters who are likeable and believable. Even though Cale is a Christian, he has his own issues to deal with. I can relate to Debra when she comes to fully trust in the Lord, and "hands" her children over to Him for safe keeping but still falters (wants to "grab" them back) at times. Very real-life.
I am glad I decided to read Footseps. It is good coming- to - faith - in - God story. Looking forward to more of DiAnn's suspense books, though!
There are really no words to describe how this book has affected me. As a mother of three children, I agonized deeply over the complete anguish Debra experienced when her children and husband vanished without a trace. Debra was not a Christian, although her best friend Jill was. But in the time after the abduction, Debra learned about God and let Him take full control of her life and the lives of the children she so desperately loved and missed. Debra went through so much trauma in learning about her husband's deceits that she had a very deeply-rooted fear and distrust of men. Dr Cale Thurston never once pushed Debra beyond anything she might run from. Gradually, with God's help and leading, Debra allowed Cale to help in searching for her children. What struck me most in reading this book was the deep anguish that Debra allowed God to take and use to make her strong in her faith in God. Seldom do I every read a Christian novel that touches me as deeply as this one. God came first in everything Debra experienced in her horrifying experiences. I give the absolute highest rating I can give and so much more to DiAnn Mills for Putting God in the leadership position in Footsteps. I am deeply humbled in reading about Debra. I have faith in God, yes! But would I be able to keep God number one in my life under such circumstances? I would like to think so, and pray that I would. To say this book is moving does not begin to express my feelings. It has made me think, ponder a true Christian life in the midst of this evil world, and pray for the strength that Debra claimed as her own. Thank you, DiAnn Mills. With all my heart, thank you!
